Poppy Reserve
Oh, my goodness. So, my kids, my mom and I went to the Antelope Valley, California, Poppy Reserve. It was gorgeous. The poppies were at their peak. I would suggest to everyone that this is a place you should see at least once in your life. Even my children (who are very hard to impress) loved it! Set in the Antelope Valley, west of Lancaster, California, there is just a riot of color as far as you can see. Flowers in the foreground, mountains in the background, it is just a lovely view. There are many different wildflowers blooming there, but the poppies, by far, are the most impressive. They are like a lush, thick carpet of orange. There are 7 miles of trails winding through the landscape, there is wheelchair access, and there is also an educational Interpretive Center. Parking is $5, but is well worth it. Definitely plan a trip there on spring :) |
